DJ and I got up early on Sunday, September 9th, ate breakfast, and then traveled to San Francisco to attend church with his twin sister and my sister-in-law, Amy!
We ran out of bread, so I had avocado "toast" before we left. I thus made use of leftover rice cakes that had been lingering in the pantry in honor of Savings September.
We attended our SF location's 9:30 service before heading to Sears Fine Food San Francisco, a site on everyone's bucket list!

Tips for Visiting Sears Fine Food in San Francisco
The Sir Francis Drake hotel, where Kels and I stayed during her visit, is directly across the street from this location. Because of their renowned Swedish pancakes, I have had my eye on this delicacy for Sears Fine Food San Francisco.
When I noticed the phrase "We thump each and every one" printed beneath melons on the menu, I laughed. I found it amusing that they included it.
Even the hash-browns and omelette were among the best I've eaten in the Bay, in my opinion. Because there are so many places to choose from, I seldom return to a location twice, but I would definitely return here. I believe this to be my top breakfast destination, and I would suggest it to everyone traveling to the city!

The Dining Room
Around 8:30 p.m., the dining room looked like this. The fact that the establishment was still operating made us very happy. About 20 years ago, we recalled visiting this Sears Fine Food San Francisco.
I had a different impression of the vast dining room. I recalled it more as a classic, white tablecloth establishment, but it was also full of old photos and mementos. Pink walls? I honestly can't recall.
Eddie
When our waiter finally made it to the table, I felt a little let down. He had just been working for two weeks and was rather young. I had anticipated that some old character would recall the history of the eatery. Since 1938, it has been open!
However, Eddie and I met up front at the restaurant. He wore a waistcoat covered with teddy bears, was talkative, and wasn't actually that elderly. That will spark a discussion.
An Up-Close Look
We immediately clicked because of our clothes. It was Halloween, and the bears on Eddie's vest were dressed up. The only clothing the flamingos on my dress wore was pink feathers.
Eddie has been employed at Sears for seventeen years. I informed him that Don and I had good recollections of having pancakes with our kids at Sears, in 2000. That was before Eddie. He informed me that since then, the ownership had changed.
Images
On the wall, he indicated some old pictures and news footage.
This photo seems to have been taken twenty years ago. It doesn't appear as vintage as I recall.
