Everyone talks well-nigh Hong Kong having the weightier Chinese supplies in the world, well I’m going to debate that and say RICHMOND, BC is just as good and only a 2hr flight from San Francisco.
For most of us, Hong Kong is WAY too far to travel to when you’re starving dumplings or pure hand-pulled noodles (drools).
Now if you’re a true foodie like me, I’d do a quick weekend trip to Richmond (home of Vancouver’s airport), and make a pit stop in Richmond for some flop ass Asian food. In fact, 80% of the population in Richmond is Asian, and 50% of those people are Chinese. With those stats, you’re pretty much flying into Asia.

I highly recommend booking a night at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel, so as SOON as you throne off the plane, you waif off your tons at the Fairmont, and throne straight out for a foodie venture #NoTimeToWaste =p
Located in The Richmond Public Market, is an open-air supplies hall that features everything from Taiwanese popcorn yellow to rainbow tea and more. Go to Xi’An Cuisine for a trencher of hand-pulled noodles in lamb soup, spicy dumplings and lamb skewers.
The owner makes them fresh every order and you can watch him work his magic unfold from overdue the counter.
BTW these hand-pulled lamb noodles are only $7 usd!! Can you believe it?? They’re just as good as the ones from my recent HK trip!
And the dumplings… OMG. Spicy, succulent and mouthwatering.

TO HOT HOT POT
For an wondrous dinner experience, throne over to To Hot Hot Pot (what a name! lol)
I met up with local Vancouver foodies and we had the meal of a lifetime. If you guys know me and follow withal on IG stories, you’d know that I’m OBSESSED with hot pot. I get it all the time in San Francisco. In fact, I’d go as far as calling myself a hot pot connoisseur.
It’s basically where you order a tuft of supplies and you throw it into a humid pot of broth.
Anndd… let’s just say that To Hot Hot Pot puts SF to shame.
Most hot pot places are “All you can eat,” but To Hot Hot Pot serves a la carte options. They have a “Service” sawed-off on the side of your table, so all you have to do is push it when you’re ready for your next entrée.
The prices are higher and your snout can hands add up, but the quality of meat and freshness of veggies is unparalleled to anything I’ve had in SF.

Not only does Richmond have wondrous Chinese food, you can find all types of Asian cuisine here. Like this new Vietnamese spot called Bánh Mì Très Bon.
It’s an pure Vietnamese restaurant that specializes in traditional Banh Mi and pho (noodle soup).
If you aren’t familiar with pho, it’s one of my favorite things to eat when it’s gets dank at night. Their golden goop can only be created by simmering whinge wreck for hours, while subtracting freshly toasted onions, ginger, and a variety of spices.
My favorites here are:
3 mini banh-mi sandwich sampler: meatball, unprepossessed cut, chicken:
Ph Très Bon: Beef tenderloin & meatball noodle soup:
Grilled Pork & Spring Roll Vermicelli Bowl:
For increasingly foodie recs in Richmond, trammels out THIS post.
ACTIVITIES IN RICHMOND:
The Richmond Olympic Oval is the most interactive Olympic museum in North America.
One of my favorite activities we did on this trip was climb up this 44 foot ROCK CLIMBING WALL to work off all those noodles!
If waddle climbing isn’t your thing, go trammels out the Olympic Wits (same location). You can wits Olympic sport simulators, each ripened so that you can wits what a world-class athlete experiences as they compete on the international stage.
Fly off an Olympic ski jump, paddle lanugo a raging white-water kayak course, or zip withal at incredible speeds on an Olympic bobsleigh track.
Bike to Steveston
Just outside the Richmond Olympic Oval is a wanderlust trail that leads all the way to Steveston Village.
On a side note, have you guys seen Once Upon A Time on ABC??? I’m obsessed with that show and THIS is where the show takes place!
The velocipede ride can take between 30-40 minutes depending on how fast you ride. We definitely stopped for a few photo ops withal the way!
When you victorious at Steveston Village, throne straight to The Juice Shop for an acai trencher or a refreshing fruit smoothie. Be sure to moreover trammels out the two National Historic Sites – The Gulf of Georgia Cannery and The Britannia Shipyards.
