Salutations to everybody! Next week, Shen Yun will make its world tour stop at the Opera House in San Francisco. This presentation is stunning and wonderful, and it has a very important message for everyone. Through dance, music, costumes, and a live orchestra, the program explores 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. I heartily endorse Shen Yun Performing Arts San Francisco.

This show has been described as "magnificent, deeply touching, a new dimension of China" by countless friends of mine who have seen it over the years.

I knew very little about my ethnic heritage, especially in comparison to my parents, like the majority of second-generation Asian Americans. I had a gut feeling that the folklore, dance, and traditional values had a deep past.

I was really grateful for my Chinese background, which I had pushed aside as a child, as I read through the Shen Yun leaflets. It was also energizing to know that Shen Yun prioritizes this culture.

I visited the Shen Yun website to see what further information was available since I was curious. Among other old myths and deities, I came across blogs and articles concerning the Monkey King.

Values like filial piety—respect for your parents and elders—were covered. I also read about the connection between art and music and the world around us.

I had assumed that people were no longer interested in old stories, morals, or reconnecting with life, yet all of these things opened my eyes to a whole new universe.

Regretfully, I did not have enough time to read them all. I thought I had discovered a Shen Yun Performing Arts San Francisco.

First-Time Viewers of Shen Yun

My partner and I saw a performance that featured classical Chinese dance for the first time when we went to Shen Yun Performing Arts in the 2019 season.

As advised by the website and email notification, I made sure we got there early. After we were situated, I saw that there were individuals from different ethnic foundations situated close by, including Caucasian, Hispanic, and Filipino.

The fact that they are also interested in viewing anything of Chinese ancestry was a welcome surprise.

What Were Our Thoughts on Shen Yun?

What Were Our Thoughts on Shen Yun

My partner has been dancing since she was a young child and has done choreographic dancing, including tap and jazz, as well as couples dancing. She complimented the Shen Yun dances' choreography right away.

The "sleeves dance," in which the female dancers' sleeves fluttered the stage, was something I could see she adored. Both of us are meticulous about aspects like placement and layout, and what we observed was quite high caliber.

The themes conveyed were global, and each dance performance was entertaining. Before each dance scenario, the emcees gave us background information and context. After every dance, I felt like this allowed me some time to process and process what I had just witnessed.

Why see Shen Yun Performing Arts?

Discover a Sacred Culture

Shen Yun offers vibrant and thrilling traditional Chinese dance and music performances. An examination of elegance, wisdom, and the values extracted from the five millennia of Chinese civilization, a performance by this troupe is a real picture of traditional Chinese culture as it was in the past. Despite being prohibited in contemporary China, this non-profit organization with spiritual origins is nonetheless very popular across the rest of Shen Yun Performing Arts San Francisco.

What can we anticipate?

Shen Yun presents a brand-new repertoire of dances, songs, and musical scores for each performance season. The so-called 'Middle Kingdom' of China 5000 years ago served as the model for the contemporary exhibition. It was inhabited by immortals, sages, and dragons and was a realm of heavenly harmony. Before your own eyes, Shen Yun will revive this extinct civilization.

A gathering of Falun Dafa specialists established Shen Yun Performing Expressions, a New York-based association, in 2006. They utilize the performing expressions to bring back the soul of Chinese culture, which has been around for a very long time and is broadly viewed as a human progress that was motivated by God. Since the Communist Party is formally an atheist government and does not support the spirituality depicted in the play, the group is not welcome in its spiritual home of China.
